About Light Noise

In just under two years, Light Noise have gone from an unknown quantity to being on the verge of something else entirely…

Heads first began to turn when they came runner-up in the Newcastle Music Week Industry Showcase. Weeks later, they went one better at Newcastle’s leading band comp “Expozay” defeating hundreds of high profile acts to earn a New Year’s Eve support with Silverchair, The Beautiful Girls and Something With Numbers. The New Year show wasn’t the only high profile gig Light Noise landed – media hype and word of mouth about their live show garnered them supports for a diverse range of acts including Evermore, Gyroscope and Operator Please - all in the space of months.

In 2007 Light Noise entered the studio with Engineer Dan Clinch (Grinspoon, Bluejuice, The Vines) at Sydney’s Velvet Sound Studio and recorded their debut Self-Titled EP. With continuing hype they began receiving industry attention and settled on a Master Licensing Deal through Reign Records with national distribution by MGM. They released the EP to a sold out local crowd at the Northern Star Hotel, and went on to have all four tracks nominated in the 1233ABC Music Awards, and took out 2007 Rock Artist of the year with their track Don’t Run’k.
