Seasons

Hello, I have recently completed my debut album “Seasons” which I am dying to have reviewed at least once. Let me explain. I’m a 33 year-old singer/songwriter from Victoria, BC and this record is a truly unique undertaking of which I am incredibly proud. Problem is, I can’t seem to find anyone willing to review it. Sure, it’s 57 songs and one short film on 5 disks might be a little daunting to some unexpected listener but when was the last time you’ve seen an album like that? In a world of continually shortening attention spans that increasingly embraces mediocrity, triumphs the cause of instant celebrity and desires nothing more than instant gratification/free reward, this album has no place. But I don’t think we’re all searching for the same payoff. I assure you that “Seasons” is quite a journey as you follow the character’s journey from the opening lines of the Spring disk through to the final words of Winter. If you find yourself uninterested in the scope or vision of this record or perhaps, quite simply, do not have the time of day to give it, perhaps you might be willing to share my album with someone you know who might be? I’ve had great feedback from my fans and from Garageband and the like but I would be extremely grateful for the opportunity to have a professional opinion offered forth. I’ve spent two years creating this record on every level and I need to know for sure that it’s not all in my head – I need to believe that the power of music to create change and push our societies further along this tumultuous path of evolution does still have its place and that it’s not just become a mindless form of entertainment and distraction but that it can still lend its heart and its voice to the chorus of those citizens concerned about the problems that we humans have created on this planet. I made this record to express my own concerns and observations but, more importantly, to represent my unrepentant desire to further the cause of hope in these troubled times. Surely you know someone, somewhere, who can relate to that? I know this might seem like a heavy intrusion upon your hectic day and for that I do apologize. That being said, it is my belief that hope does exist and is alive and well and burning just beneath the surface, even if the majority of the industry has stopped looking to find them. When people are fed fear they will be ill-prepared at first to hear the words of love. I’m searching for an ally in the industry who might be willing to hear that story. I appreciate your time. From Here To There, Scott Valentine
