Cassette Kids @ elsewhere
(Tuesday, 14 October 2008) Written by Robecca Boseley

Thrilling, immediate and engaging; Sydney's CASSETTE KIDS are the act to watch on the Australian live scene

With their unique sound and entrancing lead singer, the quartet has been turning heads with their energetic and passionate show.

Live, CASSETTE KIDS explosive indie guitar fuzz causes sweat-drenched hysteria. Captivating vocalist Katrina Noorbergen stamps and stomps her way around stage, hollering through a blur of blonde hair while backed by dizzying lead guitar effects, impetuous bass solos and galloping drums. Complementing their dazzling performance with fun and personality, the CASSETTE KIDS’ live experience is an engaging combination of primal energy and attitude.

Perhaps the hardest-working band in Sydney, they have already clocked up innumerable gigs both locally and nationally and their burgeoning reputation has seen them support some of the hottest international and homegrown talent. On the bill for acts including Ting Tings, New Young Pony Club, Crystal Castles, Van She and Muscles, the bands they have supported are now some of their biggest fans.

Fresh from supporting The Presets on their recent sold-out Australia-wide tour, the CASSETTE KIDS have headed back into the studio to finish the recording of what will be their debut release, a seven track mini-album entitled ‘We Are’.   Due to hit stores October 18 via their newly inked deal with Sony BMG, the mini-album sports two tracks already floating around the airwaves; the enthralling ‘Acrobat’ and the equally captivating ‘Forwards/Backwards’, alongside the forthcoming brand new killer radio single ‘You Take It’.

With all this going on in the world of the CASSETTE KIDS, their first offering looks set to be a stellar one indeed.

To celebrate their debut release the CASSETTE KIDS are ready to rock their own tour criss-crossing the country, heading to elsewhere on Friday, 31st October.
