The Lonely Road Challenge: Sonya Kahn Encourages Fans To Unite Against Loneliness
(Friday, 15 May 2009) Written by Stacey Kumagai

Los Angeles, CA –  The LONELY ROAD. Vocalist-Songwriter-Musician-Producer, Sonya Kahn is on a mission to defeat loneliness.   With her release of her new full production break-out ballad performance music video single LONELY ROAD at www.YouTube.com/sonyakahn; she has been receiving feedback from friends and fans about how much the song truly resonates with them, especially during this tough economic time.  Kahn is proposing that all her Myspace friends come together to share their thoughts about loneliness at her group, Sonya Kahn’s Speak Out Symphony http://groups.myspace.com/SKSOS She’s not only encouraging them to share their own experiences, but reach out to their own friends to invite them to come share in the group or share the video and song, so no one feels lonely anymore.

“So many people are jobless or are feeling the pinch of the economy. Some are scared, but most feel lonely and alone. Some are going through major life changes because of these tough times.  The reason I wrote this song is because I know there are days we all feel lonely but the song is ultimately about hope, determination and how you can make it on your own no matter what,” explains Kahn who has no need to feel lonely with over 875,000 views on www.myspace.com/sonyakahn

To many, Kahn may appear too busy to be lonely.  This classically-trained concert pianist /singer, she plays guitar and is also a writer/composer/arranger, producer, dancer and costume designer with her own line of merchandise. She holds a Doctorate of Musical Arts Degree in concert piano performing and musical theory, records on her own Indie label, Mozarta Muzik.  But as an artist, she understands the complexity of how loneliness plays into her craft.   “Those people who are alone by choice usually prefer their own company and can feel more liberated with their thoughts and ideas, many artists – composers, painters, writers, and performers chose to be alone in order to concentrate and be more creative. Sometimes the very closest, most loved person can be destructive and interfere with your work,” shares Kahn.

The LONELY ROAD video is directed by Pablo Francis, crewed by The Musician’s Institute, and produced by Alan Calzatti. Calzatti  has shot over 250 music videos for artists like N’Sync, Phil Collins, David Foster, and won an MTV Viewer’s Choice Award with The Back Street Boys’ “Get Down.”   Her glamorous look is by Hollywood’s Emmy Award-Winning Makeup Artist, Myke Michaels whose credits include “Seven Pounds” starring Will Smith and “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, starring Harrison Ford.  The video features Konstantin Golovin (cello), Ani Fishyan and Azat Fishyan, on violins from the Bakersfield Symphony Orchestra and Tulare Symphony Orchestra and violinist Sarkis Bukujian.

LONELY ROAD is from Sonya Kahn’s NEW BEGINNING CD and is available at iTunes.com, CDBaby.com and Digstation.com   Contact Stacey Kumagai at Media Monster Communications, Inc./BrainGASM Productions  818-506-8675 mediamonster@yahoo.com
