S&R Nightclub, SURFERS PARADISE

QUEENSLAND

UP-COMING EVENT, MARCH 25, 2010

The S&R Club, Surfers Paradise is venturing into the business of rock music. Since the departure of the Trocadero, the Playroom and even the Party, there seems to be a subculture on the Gold Coast walking around in circles lost. This in itself is ironic, rock culture seems to be more dominant in mainstream life than ever before. There’s more rock festivals, more tattoos and more alternative fashion.

The Facebook group “the Gold Coast needs a new rock venue” and its 3000+ strong members is proof of this. In order to fill the void, the S&R Club has taken aboard the challenge of running a night which trades in “VeryGC” for something a little more distorted. Thursday 25th, the S&R will launch its first rock/metal/alternative night from 9:30pm.  This weekly event will be complemented with monthly live bands.

There is currently a public competition to name the evening on the clubs Facebook page (www.facebook.com/sarclub).
