‘THE TOUCH’ ANNOUNCE NATIONAL TOUR AND RELEASE SECOND EP

The Touch, an Adelaide based Dance-Punk band, are set to release their second EP simply entitled ‘1.1’ and embark on a National tour during September and October.
The band formed in Adelaide in early 2008, slowly building their live reputation, playing high profile support slots and festivals both locally and nationally and independently releasing an EP. “In 2008 we were very happy playing local shows and festivals but in 2009 we wanted to focus more on playing similar shows interstate.”  A feat the band managed to achieve supporting Art vs Science for several shows on their EP tour, playing the high profile One Movement Festival in Perth and Parklife festival in Adelaide as well as doing their own national tour.
The band’s latest offering, ‘1.1’, was recorded under the watchful eye of renowned producer Darren Cross (who previously fronted the band Gerling). The band is rather coy about working with such a well known figure in the Australian music industry. “We were the support band for his other project ‘E.L.F’ a couple of times and he told us he liked what we were doing, after that I just emailed him and asked if he wanted to produced our next EP” Guitarist Shane Lock explained.  His influence on the music does not go unnoticed, helping the band move from their previously raw sound to a more polished one incorporating electronic elements. Singer Josh Moore elaborated further: “We worked closely with Darren from the beginning of the song writing process, he helped us tighten up the songs before we hit the studio. Once we had finished recording the songs he took them back to Sydney and worked on the instrument sounds until we were happy.”
Two tracks from the EP have already received national rotation on commercial radio station Nova and have also been played on Triple J and community stations nationally. The band also won the inaugural Nova ‘I am with the Band’ competition, beating out over 1,000 bands nationally and netting themselves $10,000.

The EP is getting a national release via MGM on October 1st and features 5 original tracks as well as a bonus CD containing 8 remixes by up and coming DJs and bands including Loot & Plunder, Voltaire Twins, Youth and St. Tropez.

The tour begins in early September running through all major cities and some regional centres. Full tour dates are as follows:
