Unsigned Youth Bands take Main Stage
(Thursday, 26 August 2010) Written by Renee
Unsigned Youth Bands will have an opportunity to shine at this year’s AusFest, through the Summer Strings initiative.

‘Summer Strings is about showcasing youth musical talent in our community,’ states Event Co-ordinator Renee Nugent, ‘The initiative is the concept of two Ferny Grove High School students. We were so impressed by their professional enthusiasm and drive for youth live music that we’ve handed over a significant portion of the AusFest Main Stage entertainment to Summer Strings performances.’

‘The only catch is that the performers Summer Strings have proposed are so great, we’re at odds on who the final three performers at AusFest should be, ‘ laughs Renee, ‘so we’re asking the community to decide through a voting process. Simple visit www.aranaleagues.com.au, click on ‘Vote Summer Strings’ and place your vote based on the biographies and MP3 samples from the bands!’

Bands include Spek2c, Sky Writer, Vice Versus Versa, Camels in Croatia, and soloist Gonzalo Rodino. Voting closes Monday 20th September at 5pm.
