| Symphonic Rock - Good King Friday Public Stream: http://soundcloud.com/goodkingfriday Website: www.goodkingfriday.com Music Video (I Know): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JmBFw_Bf__g Good King Friday’s self-titled debut, Good King Friday will take listeners away from the here and now and to a land of make believe with their modern classical sound. “Who Knows if the Moon’s a Balloon” stands out because of its troubadour style and captivating vocals while “Day After Day” showcases a harder sound for the group through passionate playing and delivery. One will feel like they are playing Madlibs when describing other tracks on Good King Friday. Asking for numerous synonyms for pretty is required due to the strings in “Burning Down” and the ivory in “The Hours.” But it is the intro in “Leaving” that shines brightest with its beautiful intro. When it comes to a song that will stay ahead of the curve and cause more of that aforementioned “make believe” look no further than “Carousel.” From the start, one can imagine being placed in a world where your best friend is Alice and a Mad Hatter is issuing you tea. It’s that light, magical sense that makes it appealing and gets you wrapped up in every note. Moving on from the tea, “I Know” is another contender for the spotlight because it just comes across as different from the rest of the album. A dominant male presence, “I Know” is catchy and has a feel much like Chicago’s The Hush Sound. Good King Friday’s Good King Friday is for fans of refined instrumentation with a 2012 feel, and artists such as Final Fantasy and The Welcome Wagon. Reviewed by Kendra Beltran of Bryan Farrish
