ACRE re-formed!
(Wednesday, 23 May 2007) Written by Prawn & Spanner

ACRE + THE RE-MAINS + JACKIE MARSHALL (solo) at The Troubadour, Saturday 2nd June

Originally formed back in 1998 and after three successful albums which received high rotation on Triple J and radio stations across the country, Acre was last seen on the big stage at Splendour in the Grass a few years ago. With a new album in the making due for release later this year, Acre are returning with fresh ears, a fresh sound and some fresh additions to the lineup.

Hailing from Byron Bay in Northern NSW, ACRE mix indie rock, country,  blues and folk to make a sound which is distinctive, yet familiar. With luscious electric guitars, a thumping rhythm section, tasty keys and other eclectic instruments intertwined with multi-part velvety harmonies their sound is bound to strike a chord in the hearts of music lovers.

Three have now become five with original members Christian Pyle – vocals, guitar, banjo, harmonica, Tim Webb – bass and Dave Sanders – drums now joined by Sal Yates – vocals, guitar and Eben McCrimmon – guitar and keys.

Set to play The Troubador this Saturday June 2 with alternative country rockers The Re-mains and local chanteuse Jackie Marshall in solo mode, ACRE will set the vibe for an outrageously decadent night.
