Press Release - 2008 Lempicka Records Showcace Event Announced

Lempicka Records is proud to announce that our first Showcase Event will be held in the glamorous surrounds of Fortitude ValleysGlobe Theatre on February 9th beginning at 8pm.

The line-up has been confirmed and will highlight five acts from the Lempicka Records stable plus two special guests, both independent bands from the Brisbane scene, ensuring a diverse night of original musical entertainment spanning a wide range of genre and styles.

Our special guests are Hanna Coffey, Jon Zagata and Andrew Maybury of Cloud Vegas/Sleep Tempest fame who will be appearing onstage with musicians Jack Harris and Jaxn Lindner in the debut live performance of new minimalist/experimental band Lilly’s Ether. We’ll also be privileged to be joined by the girls from the energetic and well known local country group Sugar’town.

A diverse showcase of music from all genres in the Lempicka catalogue will be delivered from the following featured artists:-

Kitsunegari will take to the stage with her acoustic guitar and deliver a set of pop melody and folk angst with numbers from her upcoming EP.

Direct from Sydney, the eclectic Dave Bourke will take to the stage next to perform a variety of new material alongside tracks from his debut solo LP Lindeman Chronicles including his next single ‘With the Gift of the Sun’.

Melbourne techno/trance artist Linxstar, accompanied by fellow performer Sunloch will perform mixes from his cyber-organic debut recording ‘Technologisticum Audiana’ and feature brand new material.

Laurie Agar and his talented ensemble band The Truckly-How will be delivering a set comprised of Laurie’s’ soulful contemporary folk songs mixed with some bawdy traditional Irish tunes.

Matthew Hoffman, accompanied by Eri Kimura on keyboards, Tom Farmer on bass and Laurie Agar on drums, will play a set made up of renditions of tracks from 2006’s EP ‘Ginza’ plus new material currently being recorded for future release in his debut LP.

Tickets are available now through mytickets.com.au and the cover charge on the night will be $10.
