| Uber in West End will come alive to the sounds of original indie rock on Friday 23rd May. Despite touring up and down much of the East Coast in early 2008, Friday will be the first hometown gig this year for Brizzy trio The Jake. Their retro-psychedelic sound has taken them as far away as Britain and the Netherlands while tracks from their latest EP, “More To Life” have been seeing airtime on Triple J and Rage. Joining The Jake will be fellow locals My Fiction and the token tourists Max Judo, both of whom have had equally big starts to the year. Hailing from the Tweed Coast, Max Judo are no strangers to the big stages of the world, recently returning from their second tour of the US and having already toured Japan as well as playing the Big Day Out, Woodford Folk Festival and the Quicksilver Pro. Between numerous gigs, and traveling across Japan with Something For Kate, relative newcomers My Fiction have been busy putting the finishing touches to their debut EP with the first single “Your Tokyo” ready to hit the airwaves. But being looked away in the studio isn’t My Fiction’s style and with all three bands itching to reacquaint themselves with the local punters, Uber will be the place for live music on Friday night. Friday 23rd May The Jake, My Fiction, Max Judo Uber 100 Boundary Street, West End Free Entry
