Hi Fi West End present Stompin', Dedicated to Dance, the ultimate dance event on Saturday March 13. Featuring Wild Marmalade and Opiuo together with Spankin'hide and D.J.Sketi , Stompin' will be a night of nonstop dancefloor action.
Based in Byron Bay, Wild Marmalade are the world’s original Drum ‘n’ Didgeridoo Band.
Up-tempo, infectious and uniquely Australian, Wild Marmalade create a total dance sound with only a didgeridoo and a drum kit. Where music meets extreme sport this power duo create pure energy in abundance. Wild Marmalade have created a new genre of live music and have won over a global fan base, repeatedly toured Europe, Japan and Australia, supporting major tours for internationally recognised artists and working with Cirque du Soliel in Las Vegas. They are local festival favourites having played Woodford, Exodus, Rainbow Serpent, Maitrea and Earthcore.
Opiuo was originally from New Zealand and now resides in Melbourne. He has built an international reputation for his highly original, party fuelling creations, and has played live at festivals and clubs all over Australasia. Including Rainbow Serpent, Cairns Winter Solstice, EarthFreq, and Luminate (NZ). Opiuo's music is rocking dance floors in literally every corner of the globe. With support coming from the likes of The Glitch Mob, Bassnectar, and Tipper.
Imagine a precisely blended concoction of tight irresistible grooves, chunk fuelled bouncy beats, luscious brooding soundscapes, dollops of stomach morphing bass, and a bowl of scrumptious glitch. Welcome to the musical world of Opiuo.
