Skinny Jean Traverse The Globe
Skinny Jean, if you're not familiar, are a newish band from Brisbane who are making a mark and creating a bit of talk about their eclectic and visceral live shows. Skinny Jean have a sound very much their own, and utilise their three lead singers- along with their exciting and quirky arrangements - to create a live show that keeps their audience engaged.
Since the release of their debut EP - 'Shiny Disc' in 2007, There has been two marriages, lineup changes, Euro adventures, multiple busted knees and of course…plenty of spilt beer. Despite all this, the band has stayed put and Skinny ‘Cluts’ Jean will head into the studio in July to begin the recording process for their next release . Before the band bunker down in the studio for their forthcoming album, Skinny Jean will be playing their only headline show for a while at The Globe, on Saturday July 19. Joining them for this evening of local Brisbane goodness will be experimental electro rock fiends Re:Enactment, rock n' rollers The Grove and schmick synth pop outfitThe Smart. . To catch Skinny Jean whilst they’re still quaint little hobbits and haven’t left the shire, pre-buy your tickets from Oztix: http://globetheatre.oztix.com.au/ And visit Skinny Jean on myspace: http://www.myspace.com/skinnyjeanband Saturday July 19th The Globe Skinny Jean w/ Re:Enactment, The Grove, The Smart $12 on the door Doors 8pm Over 18's "Having successfully defied my expectations Skinny Jean contrast: quiet folk against stadium rock against big band jazz against indie pop. One of the… most awesome sets I've seen... ever. What can't be denied is that the band can put on a pretty entertaining show" Posted by Cam at http://before-hollywood.blogspot.com/ "Four vocalists at any one time, unorthodox song forms and dramatic blasts of noise make for a particularly captivating show." Mitch Alexander - Rave Magazine "mixing pop rock and alt-country into a danceable mix with creative vocal arrangements." Rocknrolleddie - fasterlouder.com.au
