  • Music Managers Invited to Apply for CONTROL Program

    CONTROL, the dynamic new five stage program designed to equip music managers with crucial business skills, is now calling for applications. Mid career music managers from around the country are encouraged to apply. The program is presented by the Australian Music Industry Network (AMIN), and supported by the Association of Artist Managers. Funding for this initiative has been provided by the Australian Government. AMIN is supported by the Australia Council for the Arts.

  • Applications Open for 2011 JUMP National Mentoring Progam

    Youth Arts Queensland and its State Delivery Partners invite artists from across Australia to apply for the 2011 JUMP national mentoring program for young and emerging artists, with applications open today. As Australia’s largest artist mentoring program, JUMP identifies and promotes excellence in artistic practice amongst artists aged 18 – 30, who are in the first five years of their professional practice.
     



  • Sound Summit 2010 Program Announced

    Sound Summit is a five-day festival of independent and innovative music featuring national and international artists, occurring annually as part of the This Is Not Art festival. This year the festival continues to feature innovative and exploratory artists and speakers from around Australia and internationally and has revealed an even bigger and better festival than ever before.



  • Q Music and D-Star Spins Present Queensland Radio Airplay Charts

    Q Music is pleased to announce the launch of the Queensland Radio Airplay Charts powered by D-Star Spins. The chart is compiled every week for Q Music by D-Star Spins' forensic radio monitoring system, providing real-time results of airplay across commercial, major community, Triple J and ABC radio across the Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth, Gold Coast, Central Coast, Newcastle and Geelong radio markets



  • Lord Mayor's Young and Emerging Artists Fellowships Submissions Now Open

    Applications are now open for the Lord Mayor's Young and Emerging Artists Fellowships. This program supports young and emerging Brisbane artists and arts workers from a wide range of backgrounds and industries aged between 17 and 30.

     



  • Contemporary Music Touring Program Submissions Now Open

    Round 20 of the Contemporary Music Touring Program is now open. The Contemporary Music Touring Program provides opportunities for a wide range of music to tour the country - including but not limited to, rock, pop, jazz, folk, country and Indigenous music.



  • The Edge Calling for Catalyst Applications

    The Edge is calling for Catalyst applications from creative professionals. Edge Catalysts are people working where creativity meets technology, pushing boundaries and generating ideas. Catalyst positions are paid, temporary, part-time roles for six months.
     



  • Australasian World Music Expo 2010 Artist Lineup Announced

    The third annual Australasian World Music Expo (AWME), will turn Melbourne into a melting pot of global sounds with artists, music industry representatives and festival audiences preparing to descend on the city, from 18th – 21st November.



  • Entries Open for the International Songwriting Competition 2010

    The International Songwriting Competition (ISC) is looking for great songs and songwriters to enter in 2010. More than $150,000 in cash and prizes are on offer, including an overall Grand Prize of US$25,000 cash and $20,000 in music equipment, services, and more. There will be 66 winners in over 25 categories, including the new 'Unsigned Only' category for 2010. So whether you are a professional songwriter or just starting out, ISC encourages you to apply.



  • Gig Launch Offers Apollo Bay Music Festival Sponsorship

    Australian online booking agency Gig Launch is sponsoring the Apollo Bay Music Festival in Victoria in 2011, and is offering a grant that gives musicians all over Australia the opportunity to play to a new audience. Gig Launch is contributing $1000 for artists wishing to play at the festival, to put towards travel and accommodation costs.



  • Brisbane Powerhouse Presents Singaot Sista

    Singaot Sista (Sing Out Sister) is a tribute to female creativity, cultural diversity, beauty and endurance. Some of Australia's most acclaimed female Indigenous singers and songwriters are joining together at the Brisbane Powerhouse next month with their Indigenous sisters from New Zealand, the Pacific and Sudan in a powerful and symbolic collaboration. Singaot Sista is a unique musical creation expressing the diverse and life-affirming experiences of contemporary Indigenous Women in 2010.
