The Alliance Francaise is the biggest French Film Festival outside France. This year’s movies include Delicacy, in which Audrey Tatou plays a widow who falls in unlikely love with a Swedish co-worker; animated film The Rabbi’s Cat, in which a family cat shocks its owners first by learning to talk after swallowing a parrot and then by requesting to become Jewish; and Elles, in which Juliette Binoche plays a journalist for Elle magazine who questions her own life choices while investigating student prostitution. Mexican guitar duo (and former metalheads) Rodrigo Y Gabriela (pictured) have taken the opportunity to go back and re-visit some of their earlier songs on their latest album, Area 52. They do so in the company of a 13-piece Cuban orchestra and other guests, including Anoushka Shankar on sitar. We’ve got five copies of the CD to give away.

Courtesy of the Liberation label we’ve got three packs of three new-release CDs to give away. First up is the soundtrack to Any Questions For Ben?, the new comedy from the makers of The Dish and The Castle. It’s a double album featuring everyone from John Steel Singers and You Am I to Boston and Pete Murray. Then there’s Cities On The Sea, the debut album from Melbourne band The Dead Leaves (pictured), who started out as Matt Joe Gow’s backing band on his album The Messenger. Scott Kelly (pictured) and John Baizley are legends of progressive metal – Kelly as one of the founding members of hardcore/metal band Neurosis and its various offshoots, as well as guest vocalist on the last four Mastodon albums, and Baizley as frontman of heavy metal heavyweights Baroness. The two will be putting down the electric guitars and picking up acoustics for a special show at The Zoo on Thursday Feb 9. We’ve got a double pass to the gig to give away.

Grime rapper Tinie Tempah (pictured), whom you might know from his collaboration with Swedish House Mafia on the filthy Miami 2 Ibiza, is part of this year’s Future Music Festival line-up. He’s also gracing us with a sideshow at the Riverstage on Friday Mar 2 with fellow Future attendees Chase & Status. It’s an all ages show and we’ve got two double passes to give away.

Ryan Reynolds stars in Safe House as a young CIA agent who is entrusted with looking after a dangerous criminal, played by Denzel Washington, in a high-tech, top secret safe house. When the facility is compromised he goes on the run with the fugitive in tow, unsure who he’s been betrayed by or who he can trust. Buck is a documentary about Buck Brannaman, the man who both inspired the book The Horse Whisperer and served as lead equine consultant on the set of the movie based on it. The documentary traces his gentle philosophy back to a childhood scarred by abuse, and a kinship with animals who’ve suffered. We’ve got 10 double in-season passes to give away.

The Grey stars Liam Neeson as the leader of a group of plane-crash survivors in the Alaskan wilderness, trying to survive a dangerous, frozen environment while being pursued by a pack of wolves.
