The Rogues Pack a Punch with Debut EP ' Knuckles'
Tuesday, 01 July 2008
At just eighteen years old, The Rogues - Brisbane based band punch out an EP that put an old rock and roll sound back into the spot light.
After 3 years of toiling away at their instruments, The Rogues have finally emerged in 2008 with the release of their debut EP, "Knuckles".
Capturing the explosive live sound the boys have developed over the years was certainly no easy task, but thanks to the expertise of producer Bryce Moorhead, these 5 tracks hit the listener like a good ol' fashioned kick in the guts. The EP's single, Whiskey in the Wall, has already grown a reputation amongst fans of The Rogues, displaying the best of vocalist Jack Rodgers' sleazy guttermouth, backed by a growling rhythm section of Reuben Schafer (bass), Steven Moloney (guitar) and Tom Kidd (drums).
These teenage boys are busier than ever this year, playing consistent live shows around Brisbane sharing the stage with the likes of Repeat Offender and The Red Painting. The Rogues are currently negotiating a Sydney tour and understandably so with their wildly energetic live shows and a unique perofrmance style sitting somewhere between Iggy Pop, Rose Tattoo and Van Halen these boys are going somewhere.
Be sure to catch The Rogues' EP launch: July 24th @ The Zoo, with special guests Capital and New Jack Rubys. EP available July 24th through Rocking Horse Records, iTunes Music Store, Amazon Music and eMusic
