- Chrome Yellow, a night of art and music, returns to BarSoma on Thursday. The free event features music by Le Friken Hecks, The Quest For Glory and Dave Blue with works by featured artists Naomi Goldlight on display.
- Caxton Street’s Bohemia Bar hosts Autumn Sun and Alan Boyle on Thursday from 7pm, with the stripped back Autumn Sun playing again at Kitty O’Shea’s (also on Caxton St) Wednesday Aug 7.
- Happening Saturday at Brannigans Tavern, Broadbeach is Club Blackout featuring JJ Speedball, Ferry Road Disaster and Wear n’ Tear. There’ll be ‘80s Cult Movies and an Unwritten Law ticket giveaway.
- Kafka return home Sunday Aug 3 for a special show at Locknload from 3pm, bound to be chock full of dub and reggae treats.
- Sunday sees arguably Brisbane’s longest running poetry event, SpeedPoets returning once again to spiritual home The Alibi Room, from 2pm. A gold coin donation will allow you to witness the shenanigans from 4ZzZ’s Literate Latte, Amy Clare and the enigmatic Brother Man Dude, complimented by an open mic session, ‘zines and giveaways.
