Justin Hawkins, one-time lead singer of The Darkness, has apparently had to give up his seat on Richard Branson’s first Virgin Galactic space flight next year, despite having put down a £125,000 deposit. It appears the troubled singer, who left The Darkness in 2006 for drug and alcohol rehab, can no longer afford the first class fare into low orbit. We suggest offering the seat to Wolfmother’s Andrew Stockdale on standby.
