In news, perhaps not completely surprising, Wolfmother (pictured) have split up. Rumours abounded at last weekend’s Splendour in the Grass festival that the trio – who had taken an extended break during the latter half of last year – would call it a day at the festival. Citing irreconcilable personal and professional differences keyboardist/bassist Chris Ross decided to leave the group after their headline performance on Sunday Aug 3. Allegedly he’s long clashed with frontman Andrew Stockdale. Drummer Myles Heskett has also decided to leave, not wanting to be a part of a changed line up. Stockdale – the only remaining member – has decided to recruit new members and record a new Wolfmother record, while Ross and Heskett have been writing material together under an unknown guise. The news was broken via a statement by the band’s label, Modular, with no members available for comment.
