- John Meyer returns to Kitty O’Sheas, Petrie Terrace on Wednesday Aug 27 with a ‘cranking’ new support band comprised of Internalists and Westminster members. Joining them on the free night will be Mardi Lumsden, Autumn Sun and Subkulture.
- The Globe hosts a Neil Young tribute night on Friday Sep 5. Featuring Chris Pickering, Dan Parsons, Dextors Conscience, Steve Grady & The Wild Pigeons, The Wells and Pioneers of Flight, proceeds from the $20+bf entry will go to an education program for local homeless youths.
- Monster Zoku Onsomb have scored a showcase at the Big Sound event – they play the Moon Bar Wednesday Sep 10 (alongside Deez Nuts, Optimen, Pure Product and Watussi), before playing their self-styled Bastard Experiment Music Festival at The Globe Friday Sep 12 with The Tango Saloon, Silent Partners, The C*nt Offensive, Crab Smasher and Sugar Logic.
- Avant-pop Melbournite Qua is heading to the Judith Wright Centre on Thursday Sep 11 to launch his mini-LP, Silver Red. Joined by The Rational Academy and Panoptique Electrical (also launching a new album), it’s set to be a night of ‘futurist visions of pop’.
