Speaking of An Horse (pictured), the duo have scored a US deal with a new record label set up by top artist management company Q Prime. The New York-based firm manages Metallica, Muse, Black Keys, Snow Patrol and Lost Prophets. The record label is called Mom&Pop Music Company, run by Michael Goldstone and distributed via RED. An Horse came to Q Prime’s attention through Sara Quin, who met Kate Cooper and Damon Cox during a Tegan & Sara Australian tour. Quin, who says she fell in love with their work (“Kate’s lyrics about love, relationships and the tendency to fixate on disabling neurosis in oneself have become my mission statement”) will A&R their album, due out in early 2009. An Horse begin a US tour on October 20.
