Custom Rockabilly at The Troubadour PDF Print E-mail
Thursday, 25 September 2008

Heya, make sure you put Friday October 10 on your calendar for the next big rockabilly night in Brisbane.

This is the night when The Creepers from Sydney sneak into Brisbane for a once only performance, headlining at the 12th installment of the Custom Rockabilly series at The Troubadour.

The Creepers formed in late 1999 and have been cranking out top notch rockabilly all over the country. The four piece band has released three cds – All Soled Out – Monkey Wrench and their latest ‘Quiff Hanger’. The upcoming gig at the Troubadour will be their first ever gig in Brisbane.

Be sure to get their early, as opening the show will be Paulie & His Crazy Rhythm Boys. This outfit is lead by Paulie, who you would know as slap bass player for previous outfits The Ten Fours and The Chrome Daddies. Here Paulie has ditched the fat lady and has taken centre stage on vocals and rhythm guitar. The Crazy Rhythm Boys are heavily influenced by the modern European rockabilly sound, which is a cool change from the usual American inclination of many bands of today.

Following the Crazy Rhythm Boys will be local favourites West Texas Crude, so bring along your boppin’ shoes, ‘cause tonight you’re gonna rock away all your blues.
