- The 20th annual Australian Commercial Radio Awards (ACRAs) are shaping up to be great entertainment, with Aussie rock bands The Living End, Faker and The Galvatrons all performing at Conrad Jupiters on the Gold Coast on Saturday night.
- A number of radio personalities, including Hamish and Andy from Fox FM, Merrick, Rosso and Kate Ritchie from Nova 969, Ian “Dicko” Dickson from Vega in Melbourne, Greg Carey from 4BC and Gold Coast radio personalities, Matty and Renee from Sea FM and Mal Lees from Hot Tomato, will present the awards.
- For those who like their music original, rich and full of dark flavour, Brisbane atmospheric rockers Dream Sequence are playing the Clarence Corner Hotel in Wooloongabba this Saturday, joined by local gritty post-punkers Subkultchur and experimental metallers Embrace The Solar Winds. Free entry, doors open 8pm.
- After their set at the sold-out Sounds Of Spring, Brisbane pop lads The John Steel Singers will be spinning indie tunes and more at a guest DJ set for Common People, upstairs at Thriller (Rosie’s) on Saturday night.
- Nightillion have announced their last shows for 2008 prior to taking a three-month hiatus as singer Mars is heading to Nepal. They play a free gig at the Lock & Load in West End on Saturday from 10pm, the All Chick Chill Out at South Leagues Club on Oct 17, and a send-off party at Tongue & Groove on Oct 25.
- Indie rockers The Gonzo Show are back on the road, playing the Queensland Multicultural Festival on Sunday at the Roma Street Parklands Amphitheatre at 3pm.

- Don’t forget the 2008 Deadly Awards take place this Thursday night at the Sydney Opera House, with the event to be screened in full on SBS on Sunday at 9.55pm. Performers include Geoffrey Gurrumul Yunupingu, Jessica Mauboy, Ursula Yovich, Gurrumul Yunupingu, Georgia Corowa and Microwave Jenny.
