North Queenslanders get ready to rock because tickets to the first ever Cairns Music Festival are now on sale and will be your gateway to seeing Australia’s top dance acts perform in the tropics for the first time!
The killer line-up will feature Aria-award-winners Sneaky Sound System, Dukes of Windsor, TV Rock and many more.
Kicking off at 2pm on Saturday December 13 2008, the festival will take over the iconic Fogarty Park, on the Cairns Esplanade.
Cairns Music Festival promoter Michael Watt, from the Drinx Group, said the event would be the first time a festival of this calibre would be held exclusively in North Queensland.
“Summer dance festivals are usually held in capital cities but we know there are thousands of dance music fans and festival goers in the tropics who will be stoked with the chance to rock out on their home turf,’’ Mr Watt said.
‘’The venue only has capacity for 6,000 people and tickets are already selling fast so to get your piece of the action at the far north’s best dance music festival you and your friends better get in quick.’’
He said there would be one main stage and the production quality would equal that of a concert hall, with Sneaky Sound System set to play the same set they perform at their stand-alone gigs.
The festival will also showcase the iconic Stafford Brothers, Australia’s number one Dj TyDi and a host of others including Chrissie Mac, Pete Smith, Jeremy J, Kurt Bender, Dave Andronico and Dj’s Pup N Chooky.
First release tickets to the 18+ event are available online at www.oztix.com.au or from various stores throughout Cairns and Townsville.
