Which is the most expensive piece of rock memorabilia? According to Rolling Stone, it’s a 1965 Fender Stratocaster owned by Jimi Hendrix, valued at US $490,000 (A$753, 700). He burned it at a show in London in March 1967 and discovered in someone’s garage. The rest of the Top 5 is the piano Elton John wrote Your Song and Tiny Dancer on ($164,500), Slash’s famous hat which was stolen during the 2005 Grammys ($50,000), a letter Bob Dylan sent to Jerry Garcia of the Grateful Dead asking him to yodel on his record ($35,000) and Madonna’s cone bra from her 1990 Blonde Ambition Tour ($22,000).
