Argentine by way of Paris songstress Juana Molina (pictured) has held many guises over the years, but arguably, her best incarnation is that of her singer-songwriter capacity. Utilising coos and sighs, handclaps and murmurs, her rhythmic, folkish pop is punctuated by delicate, yet rooted ambient electronic beats and curiously warm and expressive vocals. For one night only, Molina (in Australia for the Sydney Festival) plays The Brisbane Powerhouse on Thursday Jan 29, 2009.
