More soundtracks for Sunday Summers
Sounding trumpets blended with vocal lines pitched in harmony, Dynamite In Black & White makes for a great indie pop release. The five-piece – led by Tim Harvey of Clare Bowditch & The Feeding Set – deliver a sound different to their folk roots, with bits of disco, soul and a little grunge. As the average track lasts just shy of three minutes it would be easy for the album to lack continuity, but this is an obstacle overcome through richness and depth. Whilst each track is standalone and won’t kill the vibe of a night filled with Bowie and Prince, the album in its entirety is a great listen that will have even the more pop-phobic listener grooving. This album is definitely coming along next time for beers on the verandah.
