Members of the Madchester baggy brigade, Inspiral Carpets found a niche with tunes like This Is How It Feels, Dragging Me Down and Peel radio favourite, the Planecrash EP. Tom Hingley joined the group following the departure of Steven Holt and David Swift in 1989. The entire group split in 1995, and following on from a reunion tour in 2001 the group have been touring steadily ever since. We may not get the entire Inspiral Carpets incarnation, but Tom Hingley (pictured) and Kelly Wood (also both members of The Lovers) play The Troubadour Sunday Dec 21, where they’re supported by Feint Ruled Line. Tickets are $15 at the door.
