Texan singer-songwriter Jolie Holland (pictured) has been climbing a steady ascent after previous (and sold out) tours in 2004 and 2006. Holland’s latest offering The Living And The Dead saw her work with Tom Waits and Elvis Costello guitarist Marc Ribot, M. Ward, Bright Eyes and Decemberists alumni Rachel Blumberg, as well as co-production work with Shahzad Ismaily (Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy). Heading to The Troubadour Friday Feb 20, 2009, and an all ages date at Byron’s Community & Cultural Centre Saturday Feb 21, 2009, her shows are described as ‘spooky yet beautiful’ with tickets available from regular outlets Friday.
