 Image: Ian Francis The Semi-Permanent Design Conference organised by Design Is Kinky is returning to Brisbane in 2009, taking place at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre on Wednesday Apr 8. Artists, graphic designers and new media creatives will be descending upon the BCEC to attend lectures and forums by a host of luminaries, including Scott Dadich, creative director of US tech publication Wired Magazine; Ian Francis, a UK-based contemporary artist; Tamara Dean and Dean Sewell, Sydney based photojournalists and members of the Oculi photo collective; Ron English, a US-based internationally exhibiting painter and culture jammer; Timba Smits, an award-winning Melbourne based designer and art director of Wooden Toy Quarterly; and members of Melbourne commercial animation studio XYZ Studios (plus more to be announced).
