Stellar instrumental rock trio Del Toro follow up this week’s Mogwai support with a headline slot at The Troubadour on Wednesday Mar 11. Six-piece post-rockers Hazards Of Swimming Naked, aheadphonehome and electronic types restream support.
Bushfire relief rolls on: Local rockers Sunflower are joining forces with Pink Bullet, Buick 6 and The Arachnids at The Globe on Saturday Mar 14, with all profits from the $10 door ticket going to the Victorian Bushfire Appeal.

Newcastle indie rock/pop trio Hot Girls are set to visit Brisbane soon, launching their Short.Fast.Loud-approved EP Kamikaze Pilots. Despite ‘Not Girls’ perhaps being a better band name for Raphe, James and Evan, you can catch them on Mar 20 at Browning St Studios, West End (with Nikko, Mass Migration and Quiet Steps), and Mar 21 at Fat Louie’s (with Willows, In Sepia and From Water To Wine).
Award-winning jazz singer Ingrid James and Brisbane-based UK pianist John Reeves have recorded a duo album of contemporary and classic standards (including material from the Beatles to the Beach Boys). Entitled Circumflex, they’ll be launching it Saturday Mar 21 at the Brisbane Jazz Club (doors at 7.30pm, bookings )
Brisbane country-punk-pop rabble-rousers The Rocketsmiths are planning to launch their new single Man With A Gun from EP Parts, Pieces with a few shows, including appearances at Fans (Alhambra Lounge) on Friday Mar 27 and Bon Amici’s in Toowoomba on Saturday Mar 28.
