- In a pleasant bit of gig scheduling, Fi Claus will be launching her Bijoux album at the Brisbane Openair Cinema at South Bank Parklands on Thursday Mar 19. She’s onstage at 6pm, with a screening of the Oscar-winning documentary Man On Wire to follow.
- Veronicas-approved trio Short Stack have sold out their first Brisbane headlining show set for Saturday Mar 21 at the Princess Theatre. If you missed out you’ll have to wait for when then return to launch debut album Stack Is The New Black later this year.
- Tokyo-based artist Atsuhiro Ito (aka Optrum) plays a self-designed amplified fluorescent light instrument (!), and he’ll be bringing it Brisbane on Thursday Mar 26 at the Judith Wright Centre for Mono6, teaming up with Aussie percussionist Robbie Avenaim for a unique show.
- Local songstress Sarah Haigh has recently been finishing up a new EP with Magoo, as is now ready to try some new songs out on audiences. You can catch her at The Zoo Friday Mar 27 when she supports The Bloodpoets for their single launch.
- Brisband My Fiction have announced a special fundraiser show on Saturday Mar 28, in the hopes that their fanbase will help the lads complete production of their debut album. Supports will be Black Mustang and Biff Co. Find out more at www.myspace.com/myfictionband
- Melbourne singer-songwriter Broni is launching his debut album, Every Thought I’ve Had Since I Was 10, with a couple of local shows, including Saturday Mar 28 at The Hive and Monday Mar 30 at The Cavern. Check www.myspace.com/jaybroni for a preview.
