Sydney band Lost Valentinos have been recording their forthcoming debut album Cities Of Gold with super producer Ewan Pearson (The Rapture, M83) over the past two years in Sydney, London and Berlin. The narrative record, telling the story of the search for the lost city of gold, is finally finished and after signing with etcetc (PNAU, Fever Ray, Datarock)late last year the boys are ready to unleash it on their highly anticipating fan base. Lost Valentinos aren’t a new name in the Australian music media. Both their debut E.P. produced by Kim Moyes of The Presets and sophomore E.P. produced by Nick Littlemore and Pete Mayes of PNAU & Empire Of The Sun received critical acclaim, sold out of stock and put them on the map. Their third E.P. Miles From Nowhere followed suit, released on French tastemaker label Kitsuné (home to previous singles from Digitalism, Klaxons, Hot Chip and Late Of The Pier) and paving the beginnings for international success. Late last year The Bismarck, the debut single from Cities Of Gold, was released by Bang Gang 12 Inches and is currently being flogged on national Australian radio station Triple J, peaking as their #3 most played song. Now ready to release the full album, Lost Valentinos give you their second single Serio complete with accompanying remixes from The Bumblebeez, Weird Tapes, Jump Jump Dance Dance, Jacques Renault, and Knife Machine. Not only is it a killer single, a halcyon summer anthem defining a sound and atmosphere of warmth and bliss for both sunsets on the beach or sunrise on the dancefloor, but there is an incredible team of creatives behind the release. Both the single and album artwork was supplied by the supremely talented Jonathan Zawada (The Presets, Muscles, and more) and the video for Serio was directed by Dave Ma (director of all clips for UK indie darlings Foals) with cinematography from Ross McLennan (multi MVA award-winning cinematographer of Lykke Li, Kate Nash, CSS, and Ladyhawke). Lost Valentinos are ready to set sail, and considering the pedigree of support surrounding them and the successes their journey has seen thus this far, it seems safe to say that they’re sailing towards true greatness. On Friday, 17th April the Lost Valentinos will be releasing their new single SERIO here at elsewhere. Performing live with a vinyl platter of support acts (bands and DJs) ensure you get in early for tickets, as they are guaranteed to sell like hot cakes! Tickets are available online at www.oztix.com.au
