- Following up their well-regarded debut EP In The Nude For Love, Melbourne popsters in the Belle & Sebastian/Go-Betweens vein, Oh Mercy, will release full-length Privileged Woes on Aug 21through Casadeldisco Records.
- Tipped Sydney pop-electro four-piece Shady Lane have signed with Rice Is Nice, and are set to release new EP Here We Go, Down The Black Hole on Aug 15.
- Roots luminary John Butler’s new trio is completed by drummer Nicky Bomba (Sunrise Over Sea) and Byrons Luiters (The Ray Mann Three).
- Guitarist Johnny Marr recently revealed The Smiths were offered US$50 million to reform and play five shows. “It’s pretty obscene,” he said.
