SPIEGELTENT + STARSCREAM13 = ANOTHER MUST-SEE GIG AT BRISBANE FESTIVAL PDF Print E-mail
Thursday, 03 September 2009

Brisbane Festival’s QUT Spiegeltent will host a literal smorgasbord of creative talent during September and one performance not to be missed is STARSCREAM13 who will perform on Friday 18 September.

Starscream13 has evolved out of the melting pot that is the Brisbane music scene, and boasts an impressive line-up including French diva Pauline Maudy, Queensland’s most sought after multi-instrumentalist Greg Arnott, ex-Fagan bass player Nick Maskell, all driven by Creatures of Habit drummer Davey Spicer.

With tunes that have been described as “mouth-watering funky flavour, garnished with a round of trip-hop gently surrounded by orally sophisticated lyrics with an infusion of pop”.  Sounds of Massive Attack, meets Portishead meets Jamiroquai, all rolled up into what is known as Starscream13.

Although quietly working the self-promotion machine, Starscream13 have still reached the radar of the majors grabbing the hottest supports in town.  They’ve played with Tex Perkins, Snob Scrilla, TZU, The Optimen and Tyrone Noonan.

Lead singer and French Diva Pauline said, “Getting to play Brisbane Festival is a huge honour and the QUT Spiegeltent is a spectacular venue.  All throughout the entire Brisbane Festival event the QUT Spiegeltent will be pumping with an eclectic variety of music and performance and we’re just really proud to be a part of the festivities.”

Starscream13 perform the QUT Spiegeltent on Friday 18th September and it’s an all ages show so bring the family.  Tickets are available from Oztix on 1300 762 545 or www.oztix.com.au.
