Submissions Open for 09/10 Creative Sparks and Lord Mayor's Young and Emerging Artist Fellowship Programs
The Lord Mayor’s Young & Emerging Artists Fellowships and the Creative Sparks Grants are now open for applications from Brisbane artists and cultural workers. These grants, with up to $20,000 for each recipient, provide opportunities for creative projects and professional development. Submissions for both grants close Monday Nov 2. The Brisbane Sounds 2010 selection committee is now ready to take submissions from Brisbane based bands and this represents a great opportunity for emerging Brisbane bands to network with other bands and get their music out to the world. Jazzworx! Accredited to Deliver Bachelor of Music in Jazz Performance
The Minister for Education and Training the Honourable Geoff Wilson MP has advised Brisbane-based Jazzworx! Music Institute that it has been accredited to deliver a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Performance. Only 27 Universities or private providers offer a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Performance worldwide, with Jazzworx! being the only private provider. Of these 27 providers, 25 are in the USA and only two are Australian. See www.jazz.qld.edu.au for more info.
