Indie troubadour Mason Rack is back from his 3rd Canadian tour having completed 60 shows and 40,000 km travelled in a van. ''We had venues and festivals trying to book us straight away for next year as we will tour Canada again July 2010.” Mason Rack Band is the only band in the history of Kitchener Blues Fest Ontario to be asked back 3 yrs in a row.
Mason said about touring Canada: ''Yes it’s great to be home. We live in the best place in the world, surf here, then rainforest 10 mins away..awesome. Touring was good, but I missed home and the people here. On tour the only thing I had of comfort or familiar was the music and the reactions from the audiences. The rest was very interesting. Canada is a great place, and great people. But once an Aussie, always an Aussie! Australia truly is the lucky country.''
MRB played 2008 Adelaide International Guitar Festival, and was the first contacted in 2009 for the festival’s return in 2010.
Get along to hear new songs, ol’ Mason gems, & toe curling tales from Canada - he brought one of them back with him - apocalyptic Canadian drummer Joel 'Thunderfoot' Purkess who will join the line-up here. Joel is renowned for a drum solo classed as 'eye popping, jaw dropping & genius'. Nathan ‘Nurse’ Lee-Archer completes the trio on bass.
Australian tour kicks off NYE - 31 Dec 2009 at the Ivory Tavern, Tweed NSW with Mason Rack Band’s new cd ‘Live In Canada’ - available at gigs soon.
