- MGMTs next album, Congratulations, is completed and includes tracks called Lady Dadas Nightmare, Brian Eno and Siberian Breaks, which is 12 minutes long.
- In further Album Watch news, Joanna Newsoms newie Have One On Me is due out Feb 19 through Spunk, and abstract electronic duo Autechre will release their new album, Oversteps, on Warp in late March. The Ting Tings will also release their sophomore record Kunst this year (its German for art, oh ye of filthy minds).
- Lets not forget that Gaz Coombes and Danny Goffey of Supergrass have become The Hot Rats, and will release an album of covers featuring songs from the Beastie Boys and Pink Floyd to The Cure and David Bowie titled Turn Ons later this month.
- Brett Anderson-fronted 90s indie-glam rockers Suede are apparently considering reforming for at least one live date and possibly a new album. The line-up would be the post-Bernard Butler Suede, seeing as the guitarist is now better known for producing the likes of Black Kids and Cut Off Your Hands.
- After settling out of court an allegation of plagiarism directed at them by Joe Satriani, Coldplay are now facing another lawsuit by unknown songwriter Sammie Lee Smith, who claims the band lifted Clocks, Yellow and Trouble from his back catalogue of supposedly 4000 songs.
- No Surprises department: Apparently Ringo Starr has admitted that he cant play his drum parts on Beatles Rock Band. Im absolutely crap at it, he told talk show host Jimmy Fallon.
