Peter Hook (pictured), who co-founded Joy Division and then went on to play in New Order, is opening a new music venue in the old offices of Factory Records. The legendary Manchester label not only signed both the aforementioned acts, but also Happy Mondays and Durutti Column and were the subject of the movie 24 Hour Party People. The new venue, called simply The Factory, will open on Friday Jan 29 with a performance from Hook himself, playing songs from the entirety of his back catalogue.
