ImageBass Amp

A solid, rugged package, the Apollo is 65amps’ first-ever bass amp. The compact 50W bass head and accompanying 1x15” cabinet comprise a very sweet-sounding and robust little amp that fits either live or recording environment like a glove.

Based on classic bass amp models from the ‘1960s and ‘70s, the Apollo offers some essential enhancements that make it more reliable and useable for a present-day bass player. As well as the normal Treble and Bass controls, Apollo has as 3-way “Pad” switch that adjusts the input levels to accommodate modern basses with active electronics – something that the majority of vintage amps are simply not accustomed to – and makes the amp suitable for a whole gamut of styles from rock to jazz and funk and beyond.

The bandwidth switch adds to the Apollo’s versatility, the “Normal” setting limiting the frequency response for an accurate vintage tone and a “Full” setting expanding the frequencies for the sound of modern high-powered amps. Replete with a Mercury Magnetics transformer and a custom-designed Celestion speaker, the Apollo packs a mean punch for a compact bass amp.

RRP US$2,295. www.65amps.com
