You played at the Soundwave Afterparty. How did it go?
Great way to start the year after a break we had from the amount of work we put in last year. We sold a ton of our EPs (The Betrayal) and the footage will be on Briz 31 in the coming weeks.
Did you have a chance to go to the festival? And if so, who did you get to see?
A couple of lads went, with Whitechapel being the standout.
You were banned from the venue of your first gig before you even played. How did that happen?
Let’s just say, when you take us boys from Beaudesert, add Jack Daniels, and throw in some ’roid-munching bouncers, something has to give... but that is in the past, and we have learned from the experience.
What happened the first time you were actually allowed on stage?
The bar actually ran out of Jack Daniels, that was the only disappointing aspect of the night! We got asked [if] we could play again, as due to our large crowd the bar had a record night, which I guess is gold to promoters.
What can you tell me about Osmium?
Osmium is a new metal club that has only just begun, and will continue to run each Thursday night at Miami Shark Bar. It’s a new outlet for metal and hardcore on the Gold Coast, which has our support as any metal venue on the coast is an escape from those pink shirt, I mean salmon, wearing pretty boys who engulf the place.
Do you have anything special planned for the Osmium night?
Just our usual display of uncompromising, unrelenting, unforgiving Beau-y brewtality.
Who else are you playing with?
High Plains Drifter and Never Plead Guilty.
When did you first get into heavy metal?
Just the usual road of giving up sport and beginning to smoke weed. Guess that’s how it happens really.
Do you come from a musical family?
None of us come from a musical family by blood, but the band has become our musical family.
HATE DISCIPLE play Miami Tavern’s Shark Bar on Thursday Mar 4, the Jubilee Hotel on Saturday Mar 6, the Springwood Hotel on Saturday Mar 13, and The Lock Up on Saturday Mar 27. www.myspace.com/hatedisciplebbmc
