Revisiting the scene of the criminally good music!

Texas blues band The Hipshooters have just announced a very special event at Tyalgum Hotel, bringing a mobile studio to record live for the new album. Fresh from headlining the Brisbane International Blues Festival just recently, this Tyalgum weekend promises to explode all preconceptions about just what blues music is.

Local bass man from The Hipshooters - Billy Williams from near Uki, is very excited to have the band performing again so close to home. "We have a show at the Ballina RSL on Friday 16 April and round off this tour at Tyalgum to record some old gems and new tunes. Anton heads back home to NZ then for a bit so we'll really be letting loose here!"  When Anton next returns to Oz at the end of May, they will be heading straight to Blues On Broadbeach festival.

Check out the band myspace at www.myspace.com/thehipshooters for the latest gig listings.

The Hipshooters burst out of New Zealand onto the Australian stage in 1995, staking claim to the blues scene in Brisbane & are a jolt of electrifying Texas Blues, stinging guitar solos, smooth funk & voodoo groove with high charged R n B flavours with a Texas/Stevie Ray Vaughan/Hendrix edge.

Life got too busy and until recently the Hipshooters have only surfaced for a few select festivals - that could be about to change. See what you think: get along to Ballina RSL on Friday 16th April at 9 pm, and to historic Tyalgum Hotel on Saturday 17th April from 8 pm & be part of recording history. Don’t miss out.
