  • My Polaroid Holiday, Rawr Vanity and Amygdala-0 bring the indie rock to X&Y on Tuesday May 11. Entry is $5.
  • Brisbane indie rockers The Gallant will be headlining the launch party for BarSoma’s new indie club night The Haunt next month. It kicks off at 8pm on Thursday May 13 where there will also be half-price tapas. $10 entry.
  • My Fiction will be giving all who come along to see them at The Troubadour on Friday May 14 a free mp3 of their new song Gravel Rash & Football Stars as a taste of their next album. Bonfire Nights and The Inconsolables support.
  • Singer and songwriter Dan Sultan brings his mix of rockabilly, blues, country, soul and more to Byron Bay’s Beach Hotel on Friday May 14 and Brisbane’s Powerhouse on Saturday May 15. Accompanied by his seven-piece band, he’ll be playing songs from his acclaimed second album, Get Out While You Can.
  • With new album Sellin’ You Salvation due for release on May 1, Mojo Juju & The Snake Oil Merchants will be delivering a string of cabaret junkyard punk shows over the next month, with dark surprises and bent burlesque aplenty. Catch them at West End Carnivale on Saturday May 15 and The Joynt on Sunday May 16.
  • Melbourne outfit The Tealeaves will be infusing the country with their indie folk flavours during an upcoming national tour launching their already-acclaimed debut self-titled album. Catch them on Sunday May 16 at The Troubadour supported by Eleanor Angel.
  • Featuring ex-Wolfmother keyboardist Chris Ross, Gold Coast rock & roll outfit The Moderns will take the stage at The Zoo on Wednesday May 19 alongside fellow rockers Brothers. Chick Flick and Ant McKenna support, with the whole thing kicking off at 8pm for $10.
  • Adelaidian sensations City Riots have just wrapped up four months in the studio with Bjorn Thorsrud (Smashing Pumpkins, Dandy Warhols) and are ready to unleash the tunes of their debut full-length onto audiences when they tour the country this month. If you didn’t see them at SXSW then catch them at The Cubby Hole on Friday May 21.
