- Seven-time Golden Guitar winner Sara Storer is having a signing of her new best-of, Calling Me Home, at the Chermside ABC Shop from 6pm on Thursday May 6.
- Reggae-rockers CC The Cat launch their very first album Inna Babylon Jungle at The Joynt on Friday May 7 with support from Ofa Fanaika.
- Simone Pitot and her backing band The Albums are playing three sets in the Queen Street Mall on Friday May 7, the first of them beginning at 5pm.
- Bertie Page Clinic isn’t just a way to learn burlesque, it’s also a band. They’ll be launching their single Glitter Johnny at 320 Leichardt, formerly the Alliance Hotel, on Saturday May 8. The Soundcasters support and burlesque dancers Lena Marlene and BB Le Buff provide eye candy.
- Weekly indie dance party Gossip continues to bring bands as well as tunes to Club 299 with Howl and Alibrandi performing on Saturday May 8.
- The Mason Rack Band will headline a free concert on Saturday May 8 as part of the inaugural Saltwater Festival at Kingscliff. Plenty else will be going on over the weekend, so check www.thesaltwaterfestival.com for details.
- On the back of his latest release Ten Years At The Table, Sime Nugent (of The Wilson Pickers) is set to hit the road for a bunch of Queensland tour dates. Catch him on Saturday May 8 at The Powerhouse and again on Sunday May 9 at The Troubadour.
