It has been a long time coming, but finally local reggae/world funksters, Anarchist Duck and folk/roots phenomenon Hussy Hicks team up with folk rocker Isacc Paddon for a huge show upstairs at the Currumbin RSL this Friday July 30 (7:30pm). The Hussy Hicks have just returned from touring the USA and South America. They quickly announced their arrival home by winning the Byron Bay Bluesfest Busking Competition in April. Since then they have slotted themselves back into the local gigging circuit with many shows. Anarchist Duck has been all over the Gold Coast and Brisbane this year, playing Surfers Paradise Fest, Southern Oracle Fest and many gigs weekly from Palm Beach to the Gold Coast Arts Centre. "We spent so much time away touring and travelling last year that it's fun just to play around home. Currumbin was the first place I fell in love with on the coast so it's amazing to be playing there with such a great line-up before we head off again in August," explains guitarist/singer Felicity Lawless. The Ducks will farewell the coast with an intimate show at the Tokonoma Tea House in Mudgeeraba on August 14. With all acts renowned for electric live performances, it will be a good night to check out the local talent.
