Beautiful piano, beautiful voice, beautiful album
Within seconds of starting to listen to the second album from Melbourne singer Lilith Lane, I was hooked. Gold Diamond blew me away with its beautifully rich sound and lyrics that go well beyond old clich้s. Lane drives the album with her powerful piano and emotive vocals, occasionally trading keys for guitar. All Cylinders starts the album with a compelling combination of rhythmic piano and mellifluous vocals. Oh What A Harvest is beautifully melodic with creative lyrics and many layers. Ribbons Victor is a ballad with an almost square dance style, complete with clapping and energetic violin. Gold Diamond proves to be a carefully crafted album full of amazing tracks that prove that Lilith Lane has got something special indeed.
