Princess Theatre - Wednesday Jan 10

Boys Of Summer 2007 has arrived and tonight saw a 350-strong crowd turn out for the annual event. First up In Fiction play melodic rock, putting on a good show to open up the evening, but sadly this isn’t what this audience is craving on this particular night. Next up is Chicago's Spitalfield – these guys are kind of like a modern day Get Up Kids (I said kinda). Their music isn’t going to change the world, but they know that, and the crowd liked it anyway. Misery Signals (USA) definitely had a few fans in the audience tonight, people singing along, dancing. They put on a rad show and I’m sure were impressed with their first visit to Brisbane. Whether you like I Killed The Prom Queen or not, you cannot say they don’t rock the fuck out. They don't stop moving from the word go. Their ‘not so’ new singer has taken the band to the next level, and the rest of the group just keep the momentum flowing through their entire set. Highlight for me was the Day Of Contempt cover that was actually sung by the Day Of Contempt vocalist...good times…bring on Boys Of Summer 2008.

Is good album artwork/packaging a factor in you deciding whether to buy a CD or just a download?
