MUSIC BY THE SEA FESTIVAL 7, 8 January, 2011 www.musicbythesea.com.au Sandgate’s Music By the Sea Festival 2011 is gearing up for its ninth year — this time in its new al fresco incarnation. The 2011 Music By The Sea Festival will take to the outdoors just across the road from the Town Hall in the green and pleasant Einbunpin Lagoon Park under a big marquee. Festival patrons will once again experience the excellence, which has become the hallmark of this unique annual event. What a diverse program the 2011 festival promises to deliver! Sandgate is set to have its streets reverberating to eclectic sounds of great artists including, internationally touring band, The Whitetop Mountaineers (USA), festival favourites, OKA, Linsey Pollak and Tunji Beier in Dva, Tinpan Orange and Lucie Thorne from Melbourne, Stringmansassy fresh back from performing in China, Brisbane’s own Ruby Blue and Mark Cryle and the Redeemers. True to MBTS form, the 2011 program features a great mix of world music, folk, jazz and techno — something for everyone. The seaside festival kicks off with the Friday night freebie — high-energy dance music under the stars, followed by a full, ticketed program all day Saturday and into the night. The Music By The Sea Festival, just half an hour from Brisbane’s CBD, has developed into one of Queensland’s premier music events and as usual 2011 is shaping up as a festival not to be missed. “I've played at dozens of Festivals around Australia and the World and "Music By The Sea" remains one of my favourites.....it's a great little Festival.....fun, with high quality acts and accessible to all the Community. A Fantastic Event!” Linsey Pollak
