Toowoomba City Rollers are set to host Toowoomba’s first Roller Derby event, “Rumble On The Range” on April 16 at the Founders Pavillion, Toowoomba Showgrounds. TCR’s team "the Hilltop Hit Squad" will be taking on Tweed Heads rollergirls "the Valley Vixens" in a roller skate-clad battle for guts and glory.

The all-ages event will also feature live music from local band Jack Flash, market stalls, raffles, food, drinks and alcohol, plus a prize for best fan. Early-arriving 18+ derby fans will have the opportunity to nab “suicide seating” – trackside floor seats that offer a spectacular view but come with the risk of a rollergirl landing in your lap.

Roller derby is a full-contact, all-female sport where players from both teams skate around an oval track in a pack, trying to help their "jammer" score points by lapping members of the other team whilst simultaneously trying to stop the opposing jammer from passing them. It's fast, strategic and full of surprises.
