Chilled acoustic pop
Looking at the album cover it’s evident what this first studio EP from Liam James Campbell is going to bring to the table. Pictured on a beach strumming a guitar it’s got to be nothing but easy-breezy acoustics and sweet harmonies, a breed of laidback surfer tunes a la Jack Johnson. The Bundaberg home-grown talent has been on the scene since 2007, playing for the NRL Footy Show and making the occasional radio appearance. Opening with Off My Mind, an easygoing demeanour permeates the gentle acoustic melody full of wholesome lyrics harbouring many girls and babies. The uplifting tones of the album’s namesake Collide shows off Campbell’s range and proves that he is both singer and seasoned songwriter. There’s not much light and shade or emotional depth but for sparkly pop it goes down as smoothly as his voice.

I am wondering how long it will be until he blows up big time. Where can I get this album? I remember him from the Footy Show years ago and was hoping he would pop up again . Well done Liam |
